We have a standoff occurring down in Texas. Governor Abbott has decided, since the Biden administration is failing to perform its duty, that it’s time to take action to protect the citizens of his state.

The Biden administration has repeatedly ordered the CBP to cut the razor wire that had been put in place to refrain immigrants from crossing the border, sued Texas in order to get them to remove the floats placed in the Rio Grande to hinder the crossing.

Biden has allowed tens of thousands to flood into Shelby Park at Eagle Pass as they wait to be processed and then turned loose across the country. Abbott has taken control of the park at Eagle Pass, removed Federal officers, and placed members of the Texas National Guard in charge.

For the record, the CBP just released the current immigration numbers for the month of December where a record number of 302,000 migrant encounters at the border and for Fiscal Year to Date 785,000 have made into the country with 50 individuals to have been discovered to be on the terrorist list.

The lack of policies coming from the administration have been the major driver of the current showdown.

Governor Abbott is using the argument that Texas is under an invasion, as explained in the Constitution.

Article 1

Section 10

No State shall, without the Consent of Congress, lay any Duty of Tonnage, keep Troops, or Ships of War in time of Peace, enter into any Agreement or Compact with another State, or with a foreign Power, or engage in War, unless actually invaded, or in such imminent Danger as will not admit of delay.

Article IV

Section 4

The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened), against domestic Violence.

It is a valid argument, since the Federal Government is responsible for protecting the states from “invasion” and if it fails to do so, a sovereign state has the right to step in to protect its citizens.

Twenty-Five states have stepped in to support the efforts being put forward by Texas, offering to provide National Guard members to more razor wire, all Republican. No Democratically led state has issued a statement pro or con to this effort to rein in the flood of people coming across the border, as many of their cities have been overwhelmed by the influx of illegals.

Several Democratic Representatives have suggested that Biden should Nationalize the Texas Guard members, which would remove the authority Abbott currently holds. This would be a drastic move by the Biden administration, essentially placing the Federal Government at odds, militarily against Texas.

Since the beginning of the Biden administration, they have blamed the Republicans for “not” wanting to pass legislation to address the immigration problem but let’s not forget the Democrats had control of the White House, House, and Senate for the first two years of his administration and they failed to produce any legislation additionally, Biden has signed 64 Executive Orders that have none little to solve the problem, they have only worsen the situation.

Biden has placed several deadlines for Abbott to relinquish his control at Eagle Pass. There’s little appetite for Abbot to abide.

Every administration prior to Biden’s has operated under the same laws that have been in place for decades and at no other time, has the immigration problem been such a burden on the American people.

Since his administration began, the problem at the border has erupted and our country is under an invasion that seems to have been caused by the policies put in place on day one of Biden’s move into the White House.

The question is Biden failing to perform his Constitutional duties required of the Executive Office, enforce the laws passed by Congress and to protect the citizens of the United States?
