North Dakota voters have put forward a proposal that all election ballots be counted by hand.
Supporters that have shown distrust for the electronic voting process are hoping for the proposed change to their state’s voting system.
However, those that do not support the proposal claim that the change would cause delays in vote tallies and the potential of additional errors in the count.
The ballot measure has yet to obtain the required number of signatures to move forward.
If successful, the state would have to address hiring additional staff needed after the removal of the current ballot scanners.
